Having grown up in the farm lands of Missouri, Dorothy Dent spent her childhood enjoying the beauty of the country, its clear skies, abundant trees and grassy meadows.  With her Public Broadcasting televisoin series, "The Joy of Country Painting", it is plain to see that her love for those beautiful, rural scenes with the old. rustic barns and mills has not diminished into a faded memory of yesterday, but has flourished through the years into something that she has shared with great numbers of people.  If ever an artist has painted from the heart, it is Dorothy Dent.  Her lovely country landscapes have captivated country and city folk, beginners and advanced painters alike.
